Description
The Air Fryer Egg and Cheese Sandwich is a quick and delicious breakfast option. A golden toasted bun filled with a perfectly cooked egg and melted cheese creates a satisfying, portable meal. Customize it with bacon, ham, or veggies for extra flavor.
Ingredients (Serves 2)
- 2 sandwich buns or English muffins
- 2 large eggs
- 2 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your choice)
- 2 slices of cooked bacon or ham (optional)
- 1 tbsp butter or mayonnaise (optional, for spreading)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Non-stick cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Buns: Lightly butter or spread mayonnaise on the inside of each bun half. Place them in the air fryer basket and toast for 2-3 minutes until golden. Set aside.
- Cook the Eggs: Spray a small air fryer-safe ramekin or silicone mold with non-stick spray. Crack an egg into the mold, season with salt and pepper, and air fry for 5-6 minutes until the egg white is set but the yolk is still soft. Repeat for the second egg if cooking in batches.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Place a slice of cheese on the bottom half of each bun. Add the cooked egg, followed by bacon or ham if desired. Top with the other bun half.
- Melt the Cheese: Return the assembled sandwiches to the air fryer for 2-3 minutes to warm them through and melt the cheese.
- Serve: Remove the sandwiches from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite sides.
