Ingredients (Makes 4 parathas)
For the Dough
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup water (as needed)
For the Filling
- 2 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp chili powder (optional)
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
- Salt to taste
For Cooking
- 2 tbsp melted ghee or oil
- Non-stick cooking spray
Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough
- In a bowl, mix whole wheat flour and salt. Gradually add water, kneading until a soft dough forms.
- Cover and let rest for 20 minutes.
2. Make the Filling
- In a bowl, combine mashed potatoes, chopped onion, ground cumin, garam masala, chili powder, cilantro, and salt. Mix well.
3. Assemble the Parathas
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a small disc.
- Place a spoonful of the potato filling in the center of each disc.
- Gather the edges of the dough to seal the filling and roll gently into a flat circle.
4. Preheat Air Fryer
- Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
5. Cook the Parathas
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray.
- Brush each paratha with melted ghee or oil and place it in the basket.
- Air fry for 5-6 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
6. Serve
- Serve warm with yogurt, pickle, and chutney.
