Description
A succulent and golden-brown Cornish hen roasted to perfection in an air fryer. Infused with a blend of herbs and spices, this dish is perfect as an individual-sized centerpiece for a festive holiday dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 Cornish hens (approximately 1–1.5 lbs each)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 lemon, quartered
- 4 cloves garlic, whole
- Optional: Fresh herbs for garnish

Instructions
- Prepare the Hens:
- Rinse and pat the Cornish hens dry with paper towels.
- Rub the hens with olive oil inside and out.
- Season the Hens:
- Mix the rosemary, thyme, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Generously season the hens, ensuring to coat under the skin and inside the cavity.
- Stuff the Hens:
- Place a lemon quarter and one or two garlic cloves inside each cavity.
- Air Fry:
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the hens breast-side down in the air fryer basket. Cook for 20 minutes.
- Flip the hens breast-side up and cook for another 10–20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) when checked in the thickest part of the thigh.
- Rest and Garnish:
- Remove the hens from the air fryer and let them rest for 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve with your favorite sides.
